THOUGHT OF THE DAY   |   MAY 30, 2017

Beautiful Imperfection

Nature, is so perfect!
Life is also perfect. Already as it is.
This moment, is nothing but a God’s perfection. Caught in action.
And so are we, perfect too.

Beauty is found in ‘beautiful imperfection’.
We are surrounded by it. Every day.
Catch THOSE Moments. There’s joy in it!

Today I wonder…
If it truly takes so little to be happy. Perfectly.
Then why to kill myself, for more…

Was woken up today, at 4.30am. Not by alarm. But by sounds of nature. It gone wild this morning… Something new had happened there… perhaps, a sign that seasons of a summer are already, here?

After 30mins of lying in bed, decision made: there is no point to it. Time to get up.

Peace

First thing – to step outside. Greet Mother Nature. “Good morning! Thank you for sharing beauty Yours, so early, with me today…”

An orchestra of many birds was active in a play. Would not be wrong to say: thousands of them! Excluding sounds made by all the rest: the bugs, the wind, the trees.

Was standing on wet grass, bare feet. Feeling the cold of night, still present. Enjoying peace.

I wished, for moment this, to continue on forever. But suddenly…

…broken

I felt something crawl up on my leg. The bug came visiting. “Well, hello there too!” Then a mosquito, landed on a cheek. “No, little monster, you go away!” Followed by a bee (massive one) to come flying past my head. And make one say out loud, “Whatever you are here for, please don’t eat me!” Smile, while watching it to disappear, in chilly-morning air…

More friends of former ones rushed in to join a ‘party’. And that was it. No more just standing still, enjoying.

The peace was broken.

“Oh Nature, so full of everything you are! Such beautiful imperfection… I see, you wouldn’t care about the fellow human being, trying to enjoy your peace… The stillness moments, gifted by yourself. Then taken away, by Yours as well.”

It was a time to move inside a house.

While walking slowly, trying to hold on to experienced peace and beauty, the word ‘perfection’ popped back into my mind. And reminded me of something. It made me think…

Perfect Life?

We go through life, expecting for this journey to be a progress of smoooooth sailing. Not only in what we do. But in regards to everything and everybody else, as well.

“This must to be that way. That must to be this way. Once I have it my way, it will all be perfect. I’ll be happy.”

And so, we chase ‘the perfect life’.

Social media is full of ‘such’ examples – smart profiles, fun pictures, meditating on a beach, travelling the world… But what’s going on behind those scenes in a real world, do we ever question?

Down moments, conflicts, pains, challenges, failures. Surely, these are also happening, somewhere along the way? Yet hardly ever anyone would openly display it. Only one side of a coin. An illusion, which the rest of buys into. For then to go out and try catch wind, in broad-wide fields.

Guilty Lessons

Chasing the illusion of a ‘perfect life’, guilty of that, here as well.

Not sharing myself publicly in all my ‘ugliness’? Count that in – guilty of it too. I hope, at least, I am not trying to create a picture that me, or my life, are perfect. None of it is true, and far from it.

Indeed, I once was on a quest to build the ‘perfect life’. And ‘perfect me’. Something as seen in epic movies. But failed (of course). And failed again. To get exhausted, in the end.

Finally, to learn…

Agree, there is nothing wrong to aim for own highest-best. With every day. Seek to create ideal, through the enlightened, proven ways. To grow, daily, and to expand, in every area of life, I think is our MUST.

No longer to walk in blindness. But to have direction, crystal-clarity, for what’s next to come.

Not just shoot for stars of bright tomorrow’s. But to also focus on the Ideal of Now, and our given-moments.

I still believe, with certainty: Inspired Lifestyle of an Ideal Day, it can be achieved. Not just for a day or two, but for 80% or more, of the entire year. Even through failures, pains, challenges and imperfections that are to come along.

But aim for a perfection, and kill enjoyment of the journey? For a sake of what… illusion?

Been there, done that. It’s pointless. There is no peace in it. Frustration. Simply, sucks. Applies to just about any area in life – be it work, career or relationships with one another.

“Nature doesn’t want it to be perfect”

The experience this morning, to me it was a best example of this statement.

You can stand and wish for the world (or yourself) to be perfect. Dream of a life with no mosquitos, bugs, or bees. You can pray for it, if that’s to make you feel any better. Or beat your head against the wall…

I Want!

“I want this thing! It’s got to be perfect! That’s my way! My peace! It’s them (always ‘them’) who need to adjust to my perfections…”

Same here, would love so too! But will it ever happen?

Real life mosquitos, bugs or bees comes visiting in a form of negative thoughts, pains, challenges and failures. Always has, always will.  Not only through us, but through other people too. A human experience, a society thing, no other way around.

Can we ignore reality? Deny it? Chose to create something else in our minds? Believe in it even if it is not serving us? Hold on to our limiting beliefs, till the end? Why?…

Limiting Beliefs

I was chasing the illusion of a ‘perfection’ for years. Kept on losing, miserably, every time I’d try. Body, mind, work, relationships… you name it. Never happy, never satisfied. Need to be better. Need to be different. Need to be… alone.

When did I adapt this belief that myself, life and people got to be perfect? Where did this belief come from, in a first place? Was it serving me? It sure wasn’t, then why would I hang onto it for so long?

Without ever realizing, I was self-sabotaging myself on this one. For way too long. Until this morning’s experience came knocking on a door.

Why do we do what we do? Had to dig deeper.

Beliefs. A driving force to what we are, and what we are not. Limiting to what we can be. Are you aware of those?

Here is a good way to question all your beliefs.

Every time I’d catch myself making a statement, “I (or things, or others) needs to be (or are) this (or that) way!”, right away away I’d ask myself the following:

  • How did I get this belief (where from?)
  • Is it useful?
  • No matter how useful it is, how does having this belief limit me?

You’ll be surprised to learn how many of your beliefs are actually not yours. Parents, teachers, friends, media, etc. It could have come from anywhere!

That’s exactly what I did this morning. And figured: my belief on a ‘perfection’ came from parents. None of them being are perfect. Miles away, actually. Nice. Thank you. Well.. oh well.

Time for a Beautiful Imperfection?

The old ways, and thinking habits… it ain’t piece of cake, you know. While change, sometimes, can happen on the instant, it could be a journey of a lifetime to overcome some other few.

Yet, awareness is a powerful tool. A first step leading towards important transformation.

Eye opening experience, to help us better see.

Let’s catch those moments, of a beautiful imperfection! Then learn from them. Enjoy. And be.

No More…

So maybe this is what have happened here, this morning? Awareness took place? It feels exactly like it.

A wake up call, ladies and gentlemen. As guided by Mother Nature.

To hit a nail on one’s ‘perfect’-tired head. And give an opportunity to share with others.

Did you ever live for the ‘perfection’? And suffered? Then, I hope you heard, or felt this message, too.

No more ‘alone’.

Good morning to new-me.

And to new-You.
